Vega Trofeo - Lever 1 - 2025

First race of the Vega Trofeo championship, a very good performance.

The weather forecast heading into this weekend showed dry conditions for Friday and Saturday, but rain for Sunday.

Friday ended with a loss of 2 tenths on the leaders, we had difficulty adapting the chassis to my large size.

Saturday, after several adjustments to the chassis, the day went very well with a gap to the leaders of 1 tenth and the chassis behaved better.

Now comes the only day that really matters, Sunday.

As we left the hotel, it was raining, and with my tall stature, I'm more comfortable in the rain.

The warmup is over and when I return to the pits, I'm in first place. The rain has stopped and qualifying begins.

I came in 5th, qualifying was extremely close with not even a tenth between 2nd place and 8th place.

The rain started again and race 1 began. I started 5th and by the 2nd corner I was 3rd after an excellent start.

The race was looking good, I was very confident after this start. I stayed in first place throughout the race, increasing my gap to the second-place finisher throughout.

I finished the race 1st with more than 8 seconds ahead of the second and the best time on the track.

This race was a demonstration, my best time was more than 7 tenths faster than the second best time on the track.

The confidence was there for the second race, my first start from pole position.

The rain was still there, the race started and again after two laps I had a comfortable lead of over 2 seconds.

Given my pace, I really had the race under control. Throughout the race, I maintained a 2-second gap, without pushing my kart to its limits and without taking unnecessary risks in these tricky conditions. So I finished the second race in first place.

Just after our second race, the rain stopped, the weather forecast predicted a return of rain by the time of our final but it didn't arrive.

I knew my pace in the dry was less dominant than in the wet, but I also knew I was anything but slow thanks to our hard work on the kart and my driving.

At the start, I started first and when I arrived at the first corner, I immediately understood that we had set the tire pressure wrong.

The kart wasn't going where I wanted at all, and neither were my competitors.

We misjudged the track temperature and the final was hell.

I fought with all I could with everything I had at my disposal and finished this final in 5th position.

Really disappointed with this final, but what matters is not just the final, it's the whole weekend.

And this weekend was amazing.

We have shown that we belong at the highest position, and I intend to return there.
